The following are the core beliefs of Crosswalk Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative written Word of God (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
We believe there is One God, eternally existent in Three Persons: God The Father, God The Son, God The Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17; John 15:26; Galatians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9) God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His future return to this earth in power and glory. (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:26-27; Hebrews 9:26,28; Acts 1:3, 9-11)
We believe the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12; 1 Peter 1:18-19)
We believe regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. (John 3:3-7; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:23)
We believe in water baptism through immersion for every believer as an outward sign and public confession of one’s inward faith and also as a point of identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ that helps one to put off the old man and walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:38; Romans 6:4)
We believe in Holy Communion, The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the Elements-Bread and The Fruit of The Vine- a memorial and proclamation of His suffering and death. ( 1 Corinthians 11:26)
We believe the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer. (Isaiah 53:45; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24)
Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, according to Acts 2:4, 10:44-46, and 19:2-6, is available to believers who ask for it.
We believe in the sanctifying power of The Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. (2 Thessalonians 2:13; Hebrews 10:14; 1 Peter 1:2) one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation. (Romans 6:23; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:4-5,11-15)
According to Malachi 3:10–12 and Matthew 19:27–29, we believe that giving tithes and offerings is commanded by God and that doing so will result in blessings.
We believe that Satan and demonic forces do exist. They are fighting the church of Jesus Christ today. Anyone following them will reap their punishment, which is a literal hell and a literal lake of fire (Matthew 4:11; Ephesians 4:27; James 4:7; Revelation 19:20, 21:6-8).
We believe that every believer has the right and duty to pray for all men and circumstances. Prayer is necessary for a victorious life. God does hear and answers all Scriptural prayers (those that are in line with His Word). (Matthew 6:6-9; Mark 11:23-24; Luke 18:1; 1 Timothy 2:8; James 4:3, 5:16)
We believe that God desires our praise and worship of Him. Daily we should praise and worship The Lord through verbal acclamation, singing, clapping our hands, lifting our hands, and praising in the spirit. We should also corporately praise the Lord whenever we come together for services and meetings. (2 Chronicles 20:19; Psalms 22:22; 29:2; 33:1-2; 47:1; 63:4; 69:30; 95:2,6; 100:4; 134:2; 150:1-6; John 4:23-24; Ephesians 5:18-19; Colossians 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:8)
We believe that we are called to the ministry of reconciliation. Our primary purpose, as believers, is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those around us. God has given us power to be effective witnesses. (Matthew 28;18-20; Mark 16:15-18; Acts 1:7-8; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20)
